Design Project · 2024 · Cologne
**Short Overview** End-to-end redesign of the hotel detail page across web and mobile, focused on helping travelers compare rooms, understand policies, and book with confidence. **Problem Statement** The previous detail page mixed marketing content, room options, policies and reviews in a long single scroll. Users struggled to compare room types, find cancellation rules, and evaluate location quality quickly. **Goals** - Improve room comparison and selection - Surface cancellation policy, breakfast, and total price early - Increase detail-to-booking conversion **Role & Responsibilities** Lead Product Designer. Coordinated with content strategy, engineering and the pricing team. **Design Process** - Journey mapping of five representative traveler personas - Comparative analysis of leading travel platforms - Modular page structure prototyping with a sticky booking summary - Usability testing on desktop and mobile with 10 participants **Key Design Decisions** - Persistent room-selection panel on desktop, sticky booking bar on mobile - Room cards that show price, refundability, breakfast and bed type at a glance - Trust-focused sections: verified reviews, sustainability info, and location score **Impact / Expected Outcomes** - +11% detail-to-booking conversion - Higher task success in usability tests on room comparison - Fewer refund/cancellation support tickets due to clearer policies **Skills Demonstrated** End-to-end product design, IA, interaction design, cross-platform patterns. **Platforms** Web and Mobile
